cosmics foundation

Welcome to the Cosmics Foundation official homepage! Since we are graduating and not physically continuing our team, we wanted to create a foundation that continues the spirit of our team. The Cosmics Foundation will help FIRST teams composed entirely of female-identifying/nonbinary students have a clear path to success, through financial and non-financial support.

Essentially, the foundation will provide financial and non-financial support to all-female identifying/nonbinary FTC teams through scholarships, advice, and connections to mentors.

Check out our business plan for more details.

for teams

Financial Support

If your team or a team you know is interested in applying for the financial scholarship, fill out the Google Form linked here! We will announce the details of the scholarship at kickoff each year, we ask teams submit a video by one month after the yearly kickoff. We will decide who gets the scholarships one month after the video submission deadline. We ask that teams submit a 2-3 minute video telling us about their team and why they should get the scholarship.

Video Requirements:

  • Must be at least two minutes but no more than three minutes long
  • Must comply with all copyright laws (can use music or visuals but they must be properly copyrighted)
  • Must explain who you are as a team and why you deserve the scholarship
  • Must explain why you participate in/enjoy robotics

Non-Financial Support

Another part of the foundation is providing advice and mentor connections. The advice we share outlines things we wish we knew earlier in our FTC journey. We also have listed several mentors who have helped us or other teams throughout the years. Mentors are a super important part of FTC, and it can be complicated and intimidating to reach out to people. Here is a list of mentors that are ready to help you! All you have to do is reach out.
